Linc’s regeneration of the Constables Close area of Pill aims to support the wellbeing of its residents by making it a safer, more pleasant place to live. 

We began consulting with the local community in 2019, and a planning application for our regeneration plan was later submitted and approved in 2021.  

Linc received Welsh Government funding to pay for the demolition and rebuild of homes in Constables Close, this was confirmed August 2022.

Our latest update

LCB Group, our contractor, have started to build the new homes. They’ve been supporting Eden Gate, a Newport-based homeless charity, to offer placements to a group of homeless people to increase their skills and experiences. Fran Richley, operations manager at Eden Gate, said: “The opportunity to work with Linc Cymru and develop our guests soft and employability skills is amazing. They have enjoyed being able to spend time doing something so beneficial and leave the site knowing that they have made a difference.”

Work experience and site visits

The LCB Group is carrying out a regeneration project in Constables Close in Pillgwenlly for Linc.  Four houses and seven flats are being built that will overlook a new large open space in to make people feel safer. 

The contractor offered work experience visits to the charity and so far, 294 hours of placements have been taken up.
